STROLLING AROUND SALZBURG _part 1

When we were on our return from Linz, my idea was to visit Salzburg. First of all, I had a strong wish to visit town, well-known as a Mozart’s birthplace and in my mind I connected it with that. But Salzburg is much more than it was in my mind.

Salzburg’s name is combined of two words: salt and castle that is reffering to its massive fortress and the „white gold“ from the mountains in the South. It is the capital of a federal province of Austria with the same name. Its approximately 150 000 residents make it the fourth biggest Austrian city. Beyond that, it is said that Salzburg is Austria’s most beautiful spot that I can also confirm.
Salzburg is located in a very pretty part of Austria, where the Alps meet the flatter region to their north, with lots of lakes. The city itself is situated by the river Salzach and at an altitude of approximately 430 meters.
Photos show my start position of discovering Salzburg city and walking over the Müllnersteg bridge.
